Friends of Glenfern Green Wedge

The Friends of Glenfern Green Wedge

The Friends of Glenfern Green Wedge first began as a group fighting to stop the subdivision of the beautiful Lysterfield Valley. The then ‘Save the Lysterfield Valley’ friends group opposed the application to subdivide 215 hectares of land adjacent to the Glenfern Bushlands.

The Lysterfield Valley is registered by the National Trust as being a ‘Significant landscape’. It is classified as an area of Cultural Heritage Sensitivity and contains remnant vegetation.  Monbulk Creek runs through the middle of the site.

In 2018 the group took took their fight to VCAT and were successful in getting the permit for subdivision refused!
